If you're on the South Island this weekend and looking for an exciting event, Hydroplane racing is happening in Twizel all weekend with the renowned Masport Cup up for grabs for its 100th anniversary.

The History of the Masport Cup:

The Masport Cup has a rich history in New Zealand's motorsport scene, particularly in hydroplane racing. It was first established in the early 1960s and has since become one of the country's premier powerboat racing events. The cup is named after the Masport company, which is known for its involvement in outdoor power equipment and has been a significant supporter of the sport.
