What a start to the 2025 Repco Supercars Championships!

The Thrifty Sydney 500 was an action-packed weekend with what some are describing as the greatest supercar race of all time.

To unpack that further, after winning Friday's race from pole, Cam Waters and Brock Feeney went neck to neck on Saturday with Feeney being mostly out in front.

The 30-year-old Victorian Waters fought especially hard the final 4 laps as he was nosed to tail in Feeney's business, it even came to a blow 4 laps to the finish at turn 4, which rolled Freeneys teammate Will Brown into the picture.

The final lap came around and as the checkered flag was already in sight, it looked as though Feeney was going to come in first, but Waters was in it to win it till the end.

In the final meters of the race, Waters went on the inside of Feeney, catching some side drafting. Waters, right next to Feeney, won the race by an astonishing 0.0308s.

Overall, Cam Waters won all three races throughout the Weekend as well as claiming the fastest lap bonus.

This was first achieved by Shane Van Gisbergen at the 2022 Tailem Bend round and Waters is now only the second to go down in supercars history to score the maximum 315 points since the bonus points were introduced in 2021.

Round 2 is the Melbourne SuperSprint, 13-16th of March, where we will see whether Waters defends his wins or if Feeney is out to get even.
