Wet Denim, the rising stars of the Aotearoa Rock/Pop scene, are back with their searing new single, "Again and Again." This track is a dynamic homage to timeless rock, infused with a modern sheen that perfectly showcases Wet Denim’s unique blend of vocal pop sensibility and raw live energy.
"Again and Again" is driven by infectious lead guitars and powerful, driving drums, creating an irresistible soundscape that captivates listeners from the first note. The song's brooding lyrics delve into themes of bad habits and addictive tendencies, offering a profound narrative that resonates on multiple levels.
Jack Ledword Wet Denim’s drummer, shares insight into the creative process behind the track: "At the time of writing this song, I was listening to a lot of Nothing But Thieves, and was very inspired by their drum style and musical narratives. We’d won a free recording session at Auckland’s Parachute Studios and went overtime, working on the tune into the night, heading directly to the airport afterwards for our 6am flight that morning.”
Accompanying the release of "Again and Again" is a textural, psychedelic animated visualiser created by acclaimed multimedia digital artist EwSplat. The visualiser features the return of Wet Denim’s iconic clay figures, familiar to fans from the band's 2022 debut EP and singles "Another Hit" and "Free." These characters embark on a surreal adventure in a world that isn’t quite what it seems, visually amplifying the song’s lyrical themes and adding a new layer of depth to the listening experience.
