Sony has cancelled the release of the The Interview.
It comes after top theatre chains in North America won't screen The Interview after hackers' threats of terrorist attacks on cinemas showing the comedy.
The film is a comedy about a fictional CIA plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
Pyongyang has denied being behind the threats and hacking.
Regal Cinemas, AMC and Cinemark have pulled the movie, effectively squashing its Christmas Day release.
Hackers calling themselves Guardians of Peace have threatened moviegoers with violence reminiscent of the September 11 attacks.
The 9/11 threat - downplayed by US authorities - comes as lawyers file two class action suits against the embattled Sony studio, claiming it failed to protect employees' data, stolen three weeks ago in a huge cyber-attack.
