In todays music history, May 16th 2010, we lost legendary metal artist Ronnie James Dio

Ronnie James Dio Was An American Singer, Songwriter And Composer, Best Known For Fronting Numerous Legendary Bands Through The Years, Including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven And Hell And His Own Band, DIO.

Often labeled the ‘God Father of Metal’ Dio has gone done in history as one of the most important and influential metal artists of all time.

He’s even allegedly the reason we throw up the devil horn hand sign at concerts as he claimed his Italian grandmother used it to ward off the evil eye (which is known in Italy as malocchio). Dio began using the sign soon after joining the metal band Black Sabbath in 1979.
