Dave Grohl will be the latest subject of BBC’s Reel Stories docuseries. The show will explore Grohl’s career from his time drumming with Nirvana to fronting Foo Fighters and will splice an in-depth interview conducted by Dermot O’Leary with archival footage from the rockstar’s life.
“When I do look back on [these clips] it’s a really emotional experience,” Grohl said in a statement. “Over the years we’ve had serious ups and downs. We’ve been through deaths and divorces, we’ve been through Wembley Stadium and playing at the White House.
We’ve had a lot of incredible experiences but I would never wish any of it away – well, maybe some of it! – because I just love to do it.”
“Dave is one of the funniest, smartest and kindest people in the music industry, and his story of being in two of the world’s greatest bands is fascinating,” O’Leary added. “We had a great chat!”
Grohl’s Reel Stories episode is set to air March 27 on BBC 2 and will be followed by a showing of Foo Fighters’ full 2019 Reading Festival set.
In other television news, Grohl and his mom Virginia are gearing up to launch Cradle to Stage — a six-part series based on Virginia’s book, From Cradle To Stage: Stories From The Mothers Who Rocked And Raised Rock Stars — on Paramount+ some time this year.
