On Wednesday (March 17), Ben Gibbard commemorated the year-anniversary of his first "Live From Home" livestream by hosting what he hopes to be his last.
During the nearly hour-long broadcast, Gibbard played an eclectic mix of Death Cab For Cutie material, along with a couple Postal Service tunes, a solo song, and a cover of Kirsty MacColl’s “They Don’t Know.”
He also answered fan questions, ranging from his custom Fender Mustang to his weirdest experience during the pandemic. Near the end of the stream, Gibbard urged fans to get vaccinated when it's their turn in line and revealed that DCFC is working on a new album.
“I hope to see you guys in person soon," he said. "We have some exciting thing on the horizon as a band. We’re working on a new record that I’m very excited about and I hope that we can be in a place to not only record the record properly and get it out to you guys as soon as possible but then also we can be out playing shows and play some new songs because these songs are way better with the other four dudes.”
