Dave Grohl on how he thinks he got stuck with "nice guy" label

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is one of modern rock and roll's greatest performers and most important ambassadors to mainstream culture.
Grohl is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with Nirvana, a frequent fill-in host for Jimmy Kimmel Live! and widely considered to be one of the nicest people in show business.
While his close relationship with his mom surely plays a part in his magnanimous demeanor, Grohl points out that he also began his music career in a highly-supportive environment.
In a recent conversation with Planet Rock, Grohl downplayed the suggestion that he's the "nicest" person in rock, but acknowledged that he goes out of his way to make people happy.
"I've always looked at music as a community," he explained. "When I grew up outside of Washington D.C. and I started playing with bands, it was such a small town that a pop-rock music scene was a really tight-knit group of friends."
"And it was a community where everybody sort of helped each other; bands would help other bands, some people would have labels and sign their friends' bands... But it really was like a small community and I really loved that about music."
There's also the fact that Grohl just loves having a good time. He's infinitely grateful for the career he has, and he wants to celebrate it everywhere he goes.
"I've been bellied-up in a bar with most musicians, from the young opening bands to the heroes I grew up listening to," he continued. "I feel like it is a community of people that should be friends and support each other. I'm that guy — I'm the guy that jumps into a pool with his clothes on, that's me!"
