Metallica announces virtual 'Helping Hands' benefit concert in November

Metallica had been busy all year engineering ways to raise money for philanthropic causes and keep fans entertained at the same time.

Now, two months after releasing the long-awaited S&M 2 album and screening its Encore: Drive-In Nights concert, the band has announced a live show to benefit its All Within My Hands Foundation.

The 'Helping Hands' benefit concert will be available, starting November 14 at 5 PM Eastern Time. Buying a ticket via the band's website gives fans the opportunity to watch the show as many times as they like during a 48-hour period after it begins.

Tickets start at $15, with three options to upgrade. Fans can get a download of the concert for $25, a limited-edition T-shirt for $55 and be included on a 'Virtual Fan Wall' for a song for $95.

The show will also be accompanied by a virtual auction that will go live in the days before the event. More details on the auction will come later.

Proceeds from all sales will go to Metallica's All Within My Hands foundation, which the band established in 2017.

The first AWMH benefit concert took place in November of 2018 and raised $1.3 million. Metallica originally scheduled this year's benefit to take place in March. The event was initially rescheduled to September due to the coronavirus pandemic and then moved to this virtual event.

The All Within My Hands Foundation has been busier than ever in 2020 raising money and distributing millions in grants to causes like wildfire relief on at least two continents, COVID-19 relief and education.
