Metallica has become the first artist to ever achieve No. 1 songs on the Mainstream Rock chart in the U.S. in four different decades: the 1990s, the 2000s, the 2010s and the 2020s.

Billboard reports that the iconic heavy metal band captured the feat of longevity after its San Francisco Symphony-backed performance of "All Within My Hands" from its S&M 2 live album hit the top spot on the rock chart this week.

Metallica first hit No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart in 1996 with "Until It Sleeps." The band had another No. 1 in 2000 with "No Leaf Clover" (one of two new songs included on the band's first S&M album) and yet another in 2017 with "Atlas, Rise!"

The Mainstream Rock Chart was first established in 1981. In total, Metallica has produced 10 No. 1s on the chart since first topping it in '96. The thrash metal innovators are tied with Disturbed and Tom Petty for the fifth most mainstream rock No. 1s of all-time.
