Mick Jagger hints Rolling Stones will tour in 2022

Mick Jagger is not ruling out more Rolling Stones gigs in 2022, signaling the band will remain active despite the loss of drummer Charlie Watts last August.

Asked by Mojo magazine if the U.S. 'No Filter' tour 2021, which wraps up next week in Florida, is the "last tour" for the Stones, Jagger noted that he's been answering some version of that same question for almost 50 years.

"I don’t know," he said. "I mean, anything could happen. You know, if things are good next year and everyone’s feeling good about touring, I’m sure we’ll do shows. I’m just trying to concentrate on this tour now."

After undergoing emergency surgery in early-August, Watts announced that he would not be taking part in the 'No Filter' tour while he recovered. He asked his longtime friend Steve Jordan to take his place so The Stones would not have to postpone more shows.

Watts passed a few weeks later, ostensibly leaving his seat at the drums to Jordan.

The Stones dedicated the 'No Filter' tour to their late-drummer. Jagger remembered Watts as a grounding force who allowed the band to thrive for almost 60 years.

"The thing about Charlie was that he was always there, always played beautifully and was always willing to discuss what to do about it – how he could make it better," Jagger told Mojo. "He held the band together for so long, musically, because he was the rock the rest of it was built around."
