After a year in musical purgatory, Slash is hopeful to release new music from both of his projects in 2021: his solo band and Guns N' Roses.
As a solo act, Slash has put out four albums since 2010, including three with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.
Since reuniting with Guns N' Roses in 2016, Slash, Duff McKagan and other members of the band have confirmed that GNR has been workshopping a number of new song ideas, including a great deal of pre-existing material composed by Axl Rose.
In a recent interview with Cleveland.com, Slash was asked when fans will hear new music from him.
"I would like to think that we'd have some new stuff out next year — from both camps, I guess" said the guitarist. "It's hard to say, but I would like to think we'll have stuff out next year, yeah."
Slash has hinted in the past that part of the hold-up with Guns N' Roses is agreeing whether the band should release an album of new material or drop its new songs in smaller doses, as in EPs or singles.
In early-2019, the guitarist said that his current go-around with Guns N' Roses felt a lot like the band's earliest days, when there was no pressure to deliver. He added that there was no solid plan or deadline for a release.
