One of the most highly-anticipated metal tours of 2020 won't be happening this spring, either.
The System of a Down, Korn and Faith No More stadium tour has been postponed until the fall of this year.
The alt-metal giants were originally scheduled to launch their tour in Los Angeles in May of 2020 but rescheduled to this year in light of the coronavirus pandemic. While the virus may be waning as Americans get vaccinated, it's unlikely that a packed stadium rock show will be safe again in just two months time.
The three bands, which are to be joined by Helmet and Russian Circles as openers, have moved back the start date to October 22 and 23.
"Our shows at the Banc of California Stadium in May have now been rescheduled to October 22 and 23," read a statement from the bands. "Your ticket will be honored accordingly. If you cannot make the new date or prefer a refund, you should have received an email with your refund options. If you did not receive an email, please contact your point of purchase. For more information, please visit: livenation.com/refund."
"Hopefully this will be the last time the dates are moved because we're very excited to see you all ASAP."
In November, System of a Down released its first new music in 15 years with the singles "Protect the Land" and "Genocidal Humanoidz." The band pledged to donate all the proceeds from the new music to the Armenia Fund, which is responding to a humanitarian crisis in Azerbaijan.
Within less than a month, the band raised more than $1 million towards the relief effort with the two songs.
