The Foo Fighters are one of 35 bands joining forces this weekend for Save Our Stages Fest — a three-day virtual event streaming live from 25 venues across the country to benefit the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA)'s Emergency Relief Fund. The rockers plan to perform an intimate set at Los Angeles' iconic Troubadour Saturday (October 17) evening and decided to brush off the dust beforehand by playing an acoustic version of "Learn to Fly" on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night (October 15).

The performance, which was also broadcast from the Troubadour, marks the first time the Foos have played live since quarantine began. Watch them play "Learn to Fly" acoustic above.

This year was supposed to be one of epic proportions for the Foos. The band was planning to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a van tour, which of course didn't end up happening, but that's not stopping Dave Grohl and company from making 2020 as good as it can be for fans. Last month, they launched a 25th anniversary merch capsule, and most recently published a digital zine called The People of Rock and Roll.

In addition to celebrating their 25th year as a band, The Foos are also currently putting the finishing touches on their 10th studio album, which Grohl says is unlike anything they've ever done before.
