A seal is visiting a car wash in Papakura this morning. It is believed the seal is the same seal that plagued animal wranglers yesterday.
Police are now monitoring the seal and DoC have been called to deal with the unwelcome visitor.
Earlier, fire service northern communications shift manager Scott Osmond said the fire department had been called to the scene and were keeping an eye on the visitor while the waiting for the arrival of the "experts" to coax him out of the car wash.
"We were notified about it by Police at 3am this morning. It was on Great South near opposite Subway road and it was last seen sheltering in a car wash," he said.
"The Police we arranging for DOC to get some people and do whatever they can to it."Mr Osmond said it was an unusual and not particularly welcome sight at 3am.
Yesterday, the seal, believed to be a fur seal, waddled its way into the middle of the road, with the call out to Coles Crescent coded a "mammal hazard".
At around lunch time, the seal had been herded down to the reserve near the estuary by police and firefighters and was monitored by Department of Conservation staff.
"Hopefully will just jump back in and swim home," an emergency services source said at the time.
The seal now has a parody Twitter account!
