Another recall for fringe Black Caps seamer Matt Henry.
The in-form paceman has been called into the squad for the two upcoming Twenty20s against Sri Lanka, covering Tim Southee.
Southee's been ruled out of the T20 series against both Sri Lanka and Pakistan after scans revealed bruising on the bone of his left foot, sustained in the third one-dayer in Nelson.
Henry's laid a strong claim for continued selection after a man of the match performance in the final one-dayer against Sri Lanka.
Henry's taken five for 40 in New Zealand's 36 run win at Mount Maunganui which sealed the series 3-1.
He said it was important to take early wickets and not let the batsmen settle.
"The ball didn't come onto the bat as well as you would probably like when your starting, so I think that's probably what the batters are coming from, just getting that start. But once you're in, because of that big ground, it's quite easy to accumulate the runs and work it round."
Henry was only selected to play the first two matches in the series, but injury to Tim Southee meant a recall.
He finished the series with 13 wickets at an average of 9.38, and said he has no hard feelings about having to leave the camp again.
"It was always that I was only going to play the first two at Hagley, and then I would rejoin the Canterbury squad. So unfortunately for Tim, with the little bit of a niggle, it gave me the opportunity to come back, which was always nice to be a part of the team again."
No date has been set for a return for Southee, but coach Mike Hesson says they'll look to bring him back to full fitness as soon as possible.
