A deflated Black Caps side is vowing to charge on after being humiliated on the opening day of the second test against Australia in Perth.
An unbeaten 244 from David Warner will see Australia resume on a dominant 416 for two, after a day where the Kiwi bowlers struggled for any traction.
Black Caps bowling coach Dimitri Mascarenhas said it's tough to swallow.
"For 85 percent of the time we were pretty poor. There's obviously some positive signs - Doug Bracewell bowled pretty well - but again, Warner was pretty spectacular and didn't give any chances the whole way through."
Australian Usman Khawaja posted 121, and said the heat took it out of the Black Caps bowlers.
"By the time it got to the end of the day, you could tell their quicks were pretty tired and that's what we try to do as batsman - try to get their quicks out there and bowl as much as possible to get them tired."
Day two begins at 3.30pm.
