Brutal Knockout In AFL Match

Brisbane Lions ruckman Stefan Martin was knocked out last night after being crunched with a devastating hit by Gold Coast enforcer Steven May during an AFL match in Australia.

The hit saw May take his eyes off the ball, leap into the air and make high contact with Martin, who lied motionless on the ground until the trainers could attend to him.

The incident happened less than a minute before half-time and Martin was stretchered from the field but was not taken to hospital.

May was reported for the incident, which is likely to see the Suns player miss several weeks.
