Basketball great Andrew Gaze has joined the chorus of criticism against the refereeing in last night's dramatic Breakers ANBL loss to Melbourne United.
A late contentious dead-ball foul against Breakers guard Corey Webster ultimately handed victory to Melbourne United.
Webster's foul was called as Melbourne captain Chris Goulding appeared to deliberately fall to the floor.
Andrew Gaze has told Melbourne's SEN it was a shocking way for the game to end.
"That is just umpires not understanding the spirit of the game, the way it should be played and that's just an unfortunate mistake," he said. Â
The ANBL has confirmed the decision will form part of their weekly review process.
