An ill-prepared Pakistan side has been left red-faced by a Black Caps debutant on day two of their first cricket test in Christchurch.
All-rounder Colin de Grandhomme terrorised the Pakistan batting line up with a record debut figures of six for 41 with the ball.
Pakistan opener Azhar Ali says they knew very little about de Grandhomme heading into the match.
"We obviously had a little footage, we hadn't seen much of him before, but I think the conditions really suited him and he bowled exceptionally well."
The Black Caps will resume day three on 104 for three as they continue to chase Pakistan's first innings total of 133.
However, Pakistan is adamant they can turn things around.
Ali said if they can pick up some early wickets the whole scenario will change.
"In these kind of conditions we just need to stay in the game, stay focused and keep searching for the opportunities."
Radio Sport will have live commentary of day three, with play scheduled to begin at 10:30am.
