Germany Through After Comedic Shootout

Germany is through to the Euro 2016 semi-finals after a win in the penalty shootout against Italy in Bordeaux.

Scores were locked at 1-all at the end of 90 minutes and extra time.

The first five penalty takers for each team produced a comedy of errors with a number of spot kicks saved or sailing wide.

But Germany eventually finished the shootout 6-5 to progress to a semi against either France or Iceland.
