Impressive First Half For Phoenix To Score Win

An impressive first half has set the Wellington Phoenix up for their seventh win of the A-League season.

The Phoenix have beaten Sydney FC 3-1 across the Tasman, thanks to first half goals from Blake Powell, Hamish Watson and Roly Bonevacia.

Powell and Watson scored within moments of each other inside the first 15 minutes, before Bonevacia netted his goal with around eight minutes remaining in the first half.

Sydney's goal came shortly after halftime.

Despite the win, the Phoenix remain second to last, six points outside the crucial top six.
