McLean Park's groundsman has a keen eye on the rain radar to determine whether today's second one-day international between the Black Caps and Pakistan will go ahead.

38 millimetres of rain fell in less than half an hour at the ground yesterday, leaving it resembling a lake.

Phil Stoyanoff said most of that has drained, but he's still watching the weather patterns.

Stoyanoff said there's not much he can do about it, but he is hoping the weather sorts itself out.

Rain is forecast to clear in Napier during the afternoon.
