Nigel Owens yellow cards a ball boy

Nigel Owens is one of the best referees in the world and we love him for his cheeky attitude. 

He's now upped that cheeky attitude a notch and potentially done one of the funniest things a referee has ever done in a game of footy. 

A ball boy for the Pro12 match between Leinster and Scarlets threw the ball back onto the field, only to hit Nigel smack bang in the back of the head.  

So Nigel decided to do what any good referee would do and yellow card the ball boy. Amazing!

Since then, Nigel has been trying to track down the boy to give him a little reward.

In light of this, we thought it was appropriate to look into some of the funniest referee moments and you wouldn't believe who features in it...Yup that's right - the jokester, the comedian, the one and only, Nigel Owens.
