The All Blacks Sevens have been crowned the inaugural Vancouver Sevens Champions with a 19-14 win over South Africa in the grand final.
New Zealand led 14-7 at the half thanks to tries from Sam Dickson and Kurt Baker.
A clutch turnover from DJ Forbes midway through the second spell saw New Zealand to go the full length of the field with Lewis Ormond eventually dotting down.
South Africa struck back immediately, but made a huge blunder when their kickoff went straight out on the full as time expired.
Final MVP Sam Dickson said the team fought till the very end.
"It was a tough [tournament]. Six real hard games. Every game came down to the last whistle so jeez the boys showed some heart".
New Zealand remain third in the World Series standings, but now trail second placed South Africa by a point and leaders Fiji by two.
