Parker Racks Up Another Win

Joseph Parker has received some high praise from one of heavyweight boxing's biggest names.

Parker's delivered a decisive TKO victory over Kali Meehan in their bout in west Auckland, stopping him early in the third round.

It extends his record to 16 wins from as many fights.

Parker says he received a text from former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Evander Holyfield after the win.

The text read "congratulations Joseph Parker, you're the new deal."

However, Parker said it wasn't the perfect fight because he was over-excited.

"I felt really crisp with the punches I was throwing, felt I wasn't breathing and when I went out there got a little bit off plan."

He said it's the most significant win of his career to date.

Joseph Parker's next fight will be in December in Hamilton, with another scheduled for Samoa in the new year.
