Proud Father Ben Smith Celebrates Incredible Year

Ben Smith is only starting to truly appreciate what an incredible year 2015 has been.

After scooping the Super Rugby title with the Highlanders, the Otago fullback was an integral part of the All Blacks side that won back to back World Cups.

Smith said with life slowing down during the festive season, he's starting to understand the magnitude of his achievements.

"I've just been home for three months now so you can sort of look back on things, we watched the final, things like that, it was quite good to have a wee look at that and look back and yeah it's been a good year."

Smith said it's exciting to have his first Christmas as a Dad to daughter Annabelle.

"I think she's going to get spoiled actually for Christmas but yeah for Christmas day we are just going back to Dunedin, so yeah it's going to be good."

Smith will return to training in early January and meet up with the Highlanders at the end of the month.
