Ryder To Push For BLACKCAPS Selection

The coach of Central Districts has confirmed Jesse Ryder wants to push for Black Caps selection.

The talented, yet polarising batsman has been in contract with New Zealand Cricket and Black Caps management about possibly returning to the national fold.

Heinrich Malan is delighted Ryder wants to get back to the international fold.

"It's an exciting thing to see... that someone of that calibre is keen to represent his country again."   

Malan thinks Ryder's got what it takes to be selected, too.  

"From a skill perspective there's not too many guys in the international circuit that can do what he does."

Malan's been impressed with how far Ryder's come, saying he's shown a great level of professionalism on and off the field since returning to Central Districts.

"He's showed in every aspect that he's mature, experienced and a full-time professional in what he does."
