Stadium To Carry Jerry Collins' Name

Jerry Collins' home ground is to carry the former All Black's name.

Porirua Park Stadium will be known as the Jerry Collins Stadium, after strong public support.

The ground is home to Collins' former club Northern United, and chairman Ron Wood said it's very special.

"He just was a homegrown boy, born and bred in Porirua, proud of Porirua, with his legacy continuing."

An official unveiling and name change ceremony will be held at the ground on Friday, where a commemorative plaque will be unveiled in Collins' honour.
