Teenage 6-Foot-9 College Basketball Star Actually 29-Year-Old Man

A college basketball player tipped to make the NBA could turn out to be aged 29, not 17.

Reports in Canada suggest six-foot-nine Jonathan Nicola has been arrested for allegedly contravening immigration rules.

Originally from South Sudan, Nicola's been making headlines playing college basketball in Windsor, Ontario since arriving in Canada six months ago.

He enrolled as a 17-year-old grade 11 student and quickly became a star player, but Nicola's now being held at a detention centre, after his fingerprints matched with a previous visa application to the US with a 1986 birth year.
