Vickerman Appointed Assistant Coach For Sydney Kings

New job, less responsibility for former Breakers head coach Dean Vickerman.

The 2014/15 championship winning coach will be an assistant coach for the Sydney Kings next season.

Vickerman said he was on the shortlist for the head coaching role before they went with Australian basketball legend Andrew Gaze.

He said they went elsewhere, but then Gaze called him and asked him to be on his staff.

Free agency is underway for the Australian basketball league, but Vickerman won't be taking any Breakers across the Tasman with him.

He said they'll leave those Breakers players alone.

Vickerman said it will be incredibly tough coming back to coach against the Breakers on their home floor.
